The purpose of this article is to inform the broader business, tourism and community of the last 6 months key activities that our dedicated committee members have been working on.
We are pleased to announce that Sunshine Coast Council has contributed $25000 towards to the annual event, the Coolum Fiesta until 2015. We have supported Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club by sponsorship for the next 12months.
We are currently delivering a range of business development workshops to assist the broader business community. Note that this is a free to people wishing to attend and we thank Suncorp for sponsoring the event for the 12 months, and to our financial members who have contributed their time and resources free of charge.
We are in the process of joining the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance which will give our members increased profile in the broader community. We have introduced membership packs for our new members and we thank Westpac for the support in this area. There are also incentives for members to continue to purchase locally and keep the money in Coolum.
We have been supporting our local community groups and they have had an opportunity to promote their groups at our business networking events. The support also extends to their information promoted on our website. I have been busy attending many meetings with elected members of Government and the broader community including the business, tourism and community sectors.
We are a small organization that has nearly doubled its members in the last 6 months and we continue to grow strongly. As a small Chamber we are not flush with funds so we always looking to attract sponsors to our events. We are 1 of many local organizations committed to the Coolum region.
We have developed a very strong relationship with Tourism Noosa and the Northern Destination Desk and continue to work for the best interests of not only Coolum but the northern corridor as well. The Northern Destination Desk contributed a substantial amount of funding and time for the Iron Man Series, and contributed to the event being held at Coolum. This relationship has brought many benefits to the regions and we look forward to the opportunities for the future.
We will continue to conduct ourselves in a professional manner, we will continue to strengthen our relationships with our elected members of Government and we will continue to support our financial members as per our constitution.
In Summary, Coolum Business and Tourism will continue to take an active part in any local issues and continue to provide leadership and support to our financial members.
Regards
Rod Richards
