I love any excuse to party outdoors, to mingle with community groups, and enjoy the surplus of local talent especially when it’s all for FREE! And it’s right here on our doorstep – the Bendigo Bank Coolum Community Celebration day has now become an annual event.
This year it’s on Sunday 7th August commencing at 10am in Jack Morgan Park, incorporating the Community Centre and the Civic Centre. The ambience of the natural amphitheatre in this park lends itself to a myriad of live entertainment. There’ll be performances by the Marimba drummers, Cool Harmonies choir, roving theatrics and Zumba Fitness.
Colourful dance routines featuring Belly dancing, Folk dancing and Rory Williamson School of Dance troupe. Come and hear what Coolum Wave Writers, Hospital Art and Coast Care are up to. Find out more about Croquet, Quota and Multicap. Let the kids loose with the playdough or native plant potting. Parents and Bubs Yoga will be demonstrating and so will Aus Kick.
Many community groups will set up informative stalls and of course the smell of great food, coffee and Devonshire teas will be sure to attract attention. Bring a picnic, bring a rug but most importantly bring your family and friends.
Follow your nose to Jack Morgan Park, Park Street Coolum, behind the Coolum Bowling Club on Sunday 7th August.
It’s just such a great day to connect with your community.
