COOLUM’S COOL

COOLUM’S COOL

Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural Golden Days Festival, I can’t wait to see and hear the line-up festival organisers have in store for us.  And living in Coolum, how lucky am I that I only have to drive to the Coolum soccer fields and Tickle Park to see everything over two jam- packed days of amazing entertainment.   I’ve already set aside Saturday November 19 and Sunday 20, and so should you!

Music fans will be arriving in droves from far and near just to get a glimpse of Xavier Rudd, The Cruel Sea and The Beautiful Girls.  Also appearing will be blues and roots legend Jeff Lang, The Winnie Coopers, Dialectrix, Ashleigh Mannix, Oka, Cheap Fakes, Cabins, Floating Bridges, Stryder and Cleveland Blues and The Red Eye Junction.

There’ll be plenty of family oriented activities in Tickle Park on the Sunday with stand-up paddle board races, the Red Bull skate team, giant kites and of course, top-class music all day.  Kids will be especially catered for with sand sculpting lessons and treasure hunts.

Promoter, Mark Pico, tells me The Golden Days Festival will finish with a film on a massive screen, though he’s not giving away the name of the film…just yet?  They’ve tried to create one of the hottest coastal family friendly festivals in Australia by combining music that is hugely popular and mixing this with Coolum’s magical location and vibe.

There's no doubt it’s going to be awesome for locals and tourists, who I believe are coming from as far as Christchurch in New Zealand and Ohio in the USA.  So accommodation houses and restaurants in particular, get ready for a big weekend that might lead to an even bigger week, let’s turn on the hospitality and weather so we can really say….. “where else but Queensland”!

There’s even a Cool-Town competition to win the ultimate prize package valued at more than $2,500!   Now how can you win that?   Just visit www.goldendaysfestival.com for competition details.  The best entry wins a custom-made Shotgun surfboard, Carv electric skateboard, two-nights beachside accommodation at Coolum Caprice and two Golden Days VIP tickets.  And all you have to do is tell the organisers in 30 words or less, what makes Coolum cool!

How cool is that?  See you at the Festival.
