VOCAL NOSH AND BASH - Saturday 13th August 2011

Somebody once said – “Singing together is the creative manifestation of community. It transforms the metaphor of harmony into a real life experience”. So if any of you have had the opportunity to listen to Cool Harmonies in performance then you will know what it’s like to experience the joy of singing. With closer to 50 members these days, Coolum’s community choir enjoys creating rich four-part harmonies, offering a diverse repertoire of songs from African style to gospel and Middle Eastern to swing.

And as a member of the choir myself, I can assure you we are all passionate about every performance from the recent “gig” at the Outrigger Noosa as part of the Noosa Long Weekend, or the in-house Vocal Nosh and Bash happening at Coolum Civic Centre on Saturday 13th August from 6.30pm. You’re all invited to this night of singing and drumming which is a fundraiser for the forthcoming Australian Ugandan Tour. Eight members of Cool Harmonies and their families will join 30 other Australians in Uganda in September. Whilst there they will give concerts singing as members of Kwaya (meaning choir in Swahili) with the African childrens’choir. The monies raised from this fundraising night will help build a classroom for the orphans.

With a special guest appearance, raffles, lucky door prize plus supper included in the ticket price of $15, we promise to showcase a fabulous night of cultural entertainment and food. BYO drinks, family and friends. Pre-purchasing of tickets is preferable for catering purposes by phoning Chris McMahon on 5473 9374.

If we all do a little, we can achieve a lot.
