Winter nearly over bring on Summer time!!!

We are so lucky to have winter conditions that when cold we can just find a sunny spot out of the wind and bake. Not having to wear steamer boots and/or gloves to enjoy a surf is always a plus, let alone not having to worry about enduring hail or snow storms. Who wants to surf in that?

We had some great southly swells come through in the last few weeks with plenty of waves on offer, with offshore winds great to suit all levels of surfers.

Coolum Boardriders will be holding its round 7 comp on 1st Aug, so come down and check the local surfers go head to head. The QLD School Surfing Titles will be held again in Coolum on August 12-15 again check out and encourage the next generation of surfers as the carve it up.

Coolum surfing school will be starting up the before and after school Grom squad again. This program is designed for primary school kids to continue improving their surf skills in a safe and fun environment. Level 1 “Frothing Groms” will start up on Friday 30th July 3.30 to 4.30pm the cost is $15 and includes wet suit, surfboard, and accredited coaches.

So if you’re feeling the cold of winter, spare a thought for the poor southerners and what they are feeling and remember there is no place like the our home Coolum Beach. Get out in the sun, walk the beach or climb a mountain and will be warm in no time.

Till next month stay wet and keep smiling, life’s short so enjoy every day.
